At Hazel Drive, we work diligently to help every child grow and succeed in a social/educational setting.  Occasionally a child's challenging behavior can create an extreme disruption in the classroom and/or a serious safety risk to him/herself or others.  In the event of challenging behavior of this nature, we will take the following steps to maintain enrollment:

(1)  Notify the parent of the challenging behavior as it occurs

(2)  Work together with the parent on strategies to mitigate the behavior

(3)  Recommend that the parent engage a child development or behavioral specialist to assist in assessing the child's behavior and to give advice and/or services

If, despite these efforts, the behavior persists, notice will be given to the parent that the child must be withdrawn from the program.
