We have programs for two-, three- and four-year-old preschoolers, and morning and afternoon Kindergarten enrichment for children in half-day Kindergarten and homeschoolers.  Our extended hours from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. accomodate the schedules of working parents. We also have flexible drop-off and pick-up options to suit the needs of your part-time preschooler.  We are licensed through age 12, so we can help make your drop-off and pick-up times simpler by getting your older child on the morning bus to Hampstead Central School and off the afternoon bus, right here in our cul-de-sac.  In addition, our school-age before/after care program is available to all HCS students.

We have a Summer Camp!  We are open for cool summer fun, learning and exercise from the last week in June through the second week in August (this year, closed July 4th and 5th).  Weekly themes such as "Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue," "A Day at the Beach" and "Welcome to Treasure Island" enhance the Summer Camp experience!  In the summer the children enjoy music, outdoor art, water play, wading pools, sprinklers and more!  We will also have playground games, lots of exercise, creative fun in our sand box and nurturing learning experiences in our garden. Our hours are the same as during the school year, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., with a schedule suitable to your needs.  Our building is air-conditioned for comfort.

Kindergarten Enrichment

Children who attend PM Kindergarten may join Miss Missy's Wascally Wabbits in their morning activities.  They mark the days on their own calendars and make their own weather charts.  They make their own bound books every year with an experiential alphabet or numbers.  The children draw and color and are responsible for their own "Work Boxes" which hold the tools of the trade: scissors, glue sticks, crayons and pencils. The children are regularly joined by Miss Laura and her guitar as she leads musical activities like sing-alongs and creative movement. Children also have outdoor recess and are given daily opportunities to play with toys and pretend.

Children who join us in the afternoon after attending AM Kindergarten will have the opportunity to enjoy some "Down Time" after lunch and a story.  The children pick a spot for their blankets, pillows and a stuffed animal.  Down Time may include sleep for some children, and those who are awake can enjoy quiet activities like books, puzzles, coloring or their own "Busy Bags." The afternoon also includes outdoor recess (when daylight allows), playing with toys and socializing with friends.

Hazel Drive

Early Childhood Center

35 Hazel Drive, Hampstead, NH 03841

(603) 329-9600

Dear Parent,

We sincerely welcome you to our Hazel Drive Family!

I am happy to work with you and the NH Department of Health and Human Services on financial assistance for your child care needs. Please note:

  • A deposit of approximately one week’s tuition is required. This is a credit balance that belongs to you.
  • The Department of Health and Human Services reimburses the provider (Hazel Drive Early Childhood Center) for days the child has actually attended and a fixed amount of absences. Hazel Drive is also reimbursed by DHHS for weather closings. In order to be fair and equitable to all Hazel Drive customers, families receiving state assistance may be required to pay for snow days and absences beyond the limits set by DHHS.
  • A record of attendance will be maintained. At the end of each week you will be asked to verify your child’s hours and sign the record.
  • After the state makes a payment to Hazel Drive, you’ll be given an invoice which shows the tuition amount for the week, the amount paid by the state and the amount, if any, that you owe.
  • Payment is expected within a week of receiving the invoice.
  • Please do all that is required of you from your caseworker to keep your eligibility current. If you become ineligible and the claims are rejected by the state, you are still responsible to pay Hazel Drive for the child care that has been provided. If at any time you use up your credit balance due to non-payment, your child will not be allowed to attend.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Laura F. Picciano

Owner/Director
