Public Health Emergencies
In the event of a public health emergency, such as an epidemic or pandemic, we will consider the guidance of government and health authorities and follow it to whatever degree is mandatory and reasonable. Communication with families will be maintained during the emergency through email, U.S. mail and telephone.
Tuition during School Closures due to Public Health Emergencies
If involuntary closure of school is ordered, you will be offered a 50% refund or credit on your tuition for the duration of the closure.
If we close voluntarily, you will be offered 100% refund or credit on your tuition for the duration of the closure.
If Hazel Drive is allowed to operate and remains open during a public health situation, and you choose to withdraw your child due to personal concerns, no refunds will be given and you will still be responsible for all outstanding payments on the current billing period.
If we must close for cleaning and disinfecting and/or quarantining due to the illness of a Hazel Drive child or teacher, no refunds will be given for the first five business days per month of such a closure. Upon the sixth business day and beyond, a 50% return of tuition will be given. If the closure must continue beyond the ten business days, the illnesses will be considered and “outbreak” and we will close for whatever time period is recommended for the containment of the contagion. From the eleventh day on, there will be 100% refund or credit for the duration of the closure.
Form of Return of Tuition
For returning families, the return of your tuition will be in the form of a tuition credit to be applied to the next billing period.
Families who do not return to Hazel Drive upon reopening will receive a tuition refund by check within ninety days of reopening.
