Driveway/Parking Lot Safety
Our driveway and parking lot, like all parking lots, is the only part of our center that is not child-friendly and inherently safe. We beseech you to exercise the utmost in diligence when you are in the driveway/parking area. Hold children by the hand at all times, being especially aware in those moments when you are opening the door of your vehicle to let your child in, or if you are dealing with multiple children. Pull into spaces slowly, and look behind your vehicle before you back out. Do not allow distractions like cell phones when you are moving your car or walking with your child in the parking lot. Older children must not be allowed to stay in the car unattended or in the parking area. They must accompany you into the building. A tragedy in the parking lot is something none of us could live with. Let’s all work together for safety’s sake!
Cell Phone Use
We have witnessed an alarming degree of distraction by cell phone use on the Hazel Drive premises. This creates a disturbingly dangerous situation. Therefore, we have instituted a policy of ABSOLUTE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CELL PHONE USE in the Hazel Drive driveway and parking lot. Cell phone use is prohibited while driving into the premises, parking your vehicle, walking with or without your child, dropping off, picking up and driving out. The penalty for using a cell phone during these times is IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FROM THE HAZEL DRIVE PROGRAM. No tuition refunds will be given and expelled families will be responsible for all remaining tuition payments for the billing period.
All families are required to sign a document agreeing to this policy.
